The Only Olive is a colonial villa set in a sprawling 18000 sq ft estate and has been renovated to lovingly suit the taste of the discerning traveller. The villa in its renovation has retained the Goanness making it a visual delight of the rustic and contemporary. The airiness and cross ventilation of its construction makes living comfortable and cosy.
Balcao and the Hall
The typical Goan balcao as you enter from the manicured pavement helps you relax as you sit there enjoying your drink and watching the trees and birds around. Practical living couldn’t get any better what with the airy living hall and the formidable arm chairs tempting you to put your feet up as soon as you set your eyes on it.
Dining Hall and Kitchen
The best part of the dining hall is that it’s pitted with lovely windows drawing the sun and breeze in. The never-ending dining table that seats 10 is girted with antique chairs lending that ever-appealing old world charm. The kitchen is modern with its four burner hob, tiled slab and modular store areas. From this kitchen Santosh whips up his signature omelette to go along with the Goan poi or a simple delicious poha with steaming hot tea. You could rustle up your favourite meal any time or request Santosh to cook something Goan for you (at an extra charge).
